SOS Communications was privileged to host the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Business Lunch. Bringing quality, high-speed internet to rural Texas is a job that we take very seriously. I particularly enjoy answering questions about the unique challenges of delivering broadband to rural areas and introducing prospective customers to the state-of-the-art equipment we utilize to make it possible.
As part of our initiative to bring high-speed internet to underserved rural communities throughout Texas, we recently built a state-of-the-art transmission site in the City of Cameron, Texas. We were welcomed as new members of the Cameron Chamber of Commerce, and spoke to a group of business owners and area residents at the Cameron Rotary Club. I was also invited on to the KMIL Radio Talk Show by hosts Matt and Shelby to talk about our new service in the City. One of the most interesting questions they asked me was: "How are you doing it better than others"? My answer: "Our commitment to using state-of-the-art equipment and engineering to focus on rural customers who could not otherwise get connectivity. This high-speed access to the internet enables more people to work from home, take college courses and get their entertainment from the comfort of their homes, on their schedules, thereby enriching the quality of their lives".
There is very little fiber or power and only in certain areas of this site, so SOS built a solar power station, as well as a transmit / receive site utilizing state-of-the-art Tarana wireless equipment in order to meet the needs of our customers. Anyone can provide ‘a service’, but listening to your customers, understanding what their needs are and tailoring your solutions to meet those needs, that is the differentiator!
SOS Communications prides itself on bringing high-speed internet to rural Texas. Every once in a while, we get a slightly different variant on that challenge. There is a huge, multi-decade construction project here in west-central Texas with hundreds of trade companies and thousands of workers in office trailers that require dependable, high-speed internet to do their jobs effectively.
Another great day at the Morning Star Ranch in Milano, Texas. Pictured below is Judge Andy Isaacs, his wife Rita Kay, SOS Network Director Rick Hughes and SOS Head, George Atamian. SOS Communications and VTX1 made contributions to The Morning Star Ranch to help further their efforts in helping female veterans with PTSD. I think it is important to note that just two weeks after open heart surgery, Judge Isaacs insisted on attending the presentation together with his wife, to show their deep appreciation for the donations. We at SOS Communications and VTX1 are honored to help such a worthy cause!
